About your facilitator
Assistant Director, Career Education, JHU PDCO
As the Assistant Director of Career Education at the PDCO, CJ manages the OPTIONS program, which provides formalized support and guidance to graduate students as they explore the various career opportunities available to them. As a certified career coach, Dr. Neely also meets with graduate students and postdoctoral fellows one-on-one to discuss career exploration and proactive career planning. Previously, Dr. Neely was the Assistant Director of Employer Relations at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. While in this position, she worked closely with hundreds of employers within the public health field. Prior to transitioning into career development, Dr. Neely was a biomedical researcher for 12 years. She earned her PhD in Microbiology & Immunology from the University of North Carolina where she regularly mentored undergraduate, graduate, and medical students, as well as taught undergraduate courses. Subsequently, Dr. Neely completed her postdoctoral fellowship at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. While at St. Jude, she served as the Chair of Career Development creating and implementing a wide variety of career and professional development programming for St. Jude’s postdoc population. Through this role, Dr. Neely discovered her passion for helping the next generation of researchers successfully transition into their chosen careers.
